A Thousand Years

1- Love this song!
2- I am blessed to have my love for a thousand years and then some, because in our religion we believe we will be together for time and all eternity!

That's all for now, not my usual explanatory posting, but I feel as though this song already explains everything I would about it anyway. Enjoy!

                                               "A Thousand Years"

Heart beats fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall
But watching you stand alone
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow

One step closer

[Chorus:]
I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more

Time stands still
Beauty in all she is
I will be brave
I will not let anything take away
What's standing in front of me
Every breath
Every hour has come to this

One step closer

[Chorus:]
I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more

And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more

One step closer
One step closer

[Chorus:]
I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more

And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more

Music Is For Every Mood

Songs can help us get more in-tune to our emotions and that is not a bad thing.

So, totally me! I can find a song that means something to me almost everyday. That is why I love music!

Agree! Music expresses emotion that sometimes we cannot put into words ourselves.

Unstoppable!

Another favorite of mine from Rascal Flatts is the song Unstoppable....in fact there are actually two version of this song, both are awesome though.

Here is the original version!

And here is what is know as the "Olympics Mix" Version

So why do I like this song so much? Well you've heard the song...Listen to the lyrics!

It tells us that we all make mistakes and that's okay. Just don't let them slow you down and deny you the things you deserve. Don't let those mistakes take away your happiness.
Find something you believe in. Think of someone that you know will always love you no matter what you do. Who comes to mind? For me its my family, my husband and my Savior (Jesus Christ).
My family & husband - are forever my support in life. They are my 'helping hand when I need them the most'.
My husband - we are together, forever, weathering through the storms of life together. Our love is what   keeps us going. It is what makes us unstoppable. He is my best friend and together we can "weather any storm". Because a strong enough love can conquer anything.
My Savior - He is always there for me! I know that even if know one else loves me, He does. He will always listen to me and love me unconditionally. He is my "lighthouse shinning on the coast that never goes dim". He guides me safely home again each and every time I "walk... sideways".

Its an amazingly motivation song, in my personal opinion of course. Keeps me going!

Stand

Another one of my favorite artists is the country group Rascal Flatts. Their music has a way of touching everyone in a different way. Two songs of theirs in particular really touched me this past week as I was having a rough week.

First on is called "Stand" and if you listen close to the lyrics you will see what I am referring to. They have depth and feeling. For example, here is what I got out of listening to this song earlier today.

Our life is a story; its a fight to get through and you can either choose to win or lose. Hopefully we call choose to win the fight and that is what this song is about. Winning the fight as we battle life. There are times where we all have moments where we want to give up and want the story to end....and that is the point where we get down on our knees and pray for the strength to "keep holdin' on" and then you STAND!

It also reminds me of watching a toddler learn how to walk. They keep falling down, they come crying to you and then they get up and try again. And eventually they learn to stand, and then they walk around the room using furniture, and then they walk all on their own. They keep falling down, but they also keep getting up.

Each time we get up and keep moving on we find more and more strength to keep facing those tough patches in life and we find out how strong we truly are, and everything slowly "falls into place"

Cause when push comes to shove, You taste what you're made of
You might bend til you break, cause its all you can take
On your knees you look UP, Decide you've had enough
You get mad, You get strong,Wipe your hands, shake it off
Then you stand, then you STAND!

ENJOY!

You Raise Me Up

One of my all time favorite artists is Josh Groban, and one of my favorite songs of his is You Raise Me Up.
The song is so expressive and really speaks for itself in most aspects. It touch's my heart and soul to the core every time. It makes me think of so many special moments in my life where someone, somewhere has lifted me up and made my day. Whether it has been a close friend, a family member, my husband, my sweet little boy, or the sweet peace the our dear Lord grants us during the hard times.

Enjoy!

Music To My Ears

So True! Just think of all the sounds you here everyday living in a city and then think to yourself of what it would be like to sit in a mountain grove surrounded by evergreen trees, quaking aspens, deer, birds, wild flowers, and a babbling mountain stream nearby. Now that to me is like music to my ears!!

Since I am not fortunate enough to live close to any mountains (they are 12 hours away) instead I am near the downtown area of the city that I live in and I have to find other forms of music around me. For example, my husband & I try to escape at least once a month to a quite park outside city limits to enjoy the quite of nature. We try to do it more often that than, but sometimes our busy schedules don't allow for it or we just want to relax at home. But still, even in a busy city you can find music in the nature around you. Like the crickets on a cool summers evening, a thunderstorm in spring, the quite beauty of snowfall, and the dancing colorful leaves in the fall.

Tell me what other ways do we find music in the earth around us?

Welcome

The purpose of this blog is to express thought and feelings on music, songs and other artistic expressions that touch our lives. My hope is to not just put my feelings onto this page, but that it will help others see the difference that music makes in our lives.
